Food Allergens

From the Food Agency: "From 13th December 2014 all food businesses will need to provide information about the allergenic ingredients used in food sold or provided by them. This means that you will probably need to do some additional work to look at your menu items, and the ingredients that you use in order to identify which of the 14 specific allergens mentioned in the regulations are present in the food you prepare. This information must be available so that business operators and their staff can accurately advise their customers about allergens when they are asked about them. When food inspectors visit you will be asked to show how you are managing this process." Useful information on what you need to do to meet the new requirements is available in the FSA’s leaflet Changes to Food Allergen Information Rules and there is additional information, including guidance in other languages available, signs for customers, etc on the Food Standards Agency web site: here.

Allergens related to our daily snack are displayed in the main playroom. Our snack menu for the term is on this website. If your child has any allergies please ensure you discuss the matter with your key person ASAP on starting at the Pre-School. Please see information displayed at Pre-School or ask your key person if you have any concerns.
