Snow Procedures

Where possible the Pre-School will remain open during severe weather as we appreciate that parents still need to work. We will, however, close if there is a health & safety risk to the children or adults using the setting or if we are unable to maintain adult:child ratios. In the event of closure the website will be updated immediately after a decision has been made and an email/text sent to all.

Where possible we will alert Radio Bristol to make an announcement on their station although this can take time to get through. Bristol City Council/Education Authority will be advised.

As you can imagine there are lots of telephone calls to be made so please would you check the website or Radio Bristol before calling the Pre-School. If you are not able to make it to Pre-School it would help us greatly if you would email avpsparents@hotmail.com to say your child will not be attending. This will allow us to ascertain numbers and calculate ratios.

The closure of Ashton Vale Primary or Luckwell Primary will not affect our decision, although we appreciate that if an older sibling is not at school you may decide to stay in the warm.
