Rachel Sys
I have 3 small children – Elodie, who is now in Reception and twins, Jasmine and Quentin, who will soon attend the Pre-School. I am not currently working but am kept very busy looking after our children! I joined the committee because I wanted to get involved and wanted to support the Pre-School. My role is secretary.

Lora Lawrence
My daughter attends Ashton Vale Pre-School. I currently work as a housing officer for Bristol City Council. I've lived in Ashton Vale my whole life. I have joined the committee to be involved in my child's Pre-School education and to be involved in the local community.

Laura Moore
My daughter Drew started at the Pre-School (Playgroup) in September. I am adjusting to life as a Mum of two as we welcomed a little boy called Luka to our family in August. I will soon be returning to work as a Tutor, where I teach and assess fitness qualifications. I am lucky that my job role and being a mum reflects my passion for health, fitness and education. I joined the committee as it will enable me to learn more about education in the early years sector and give my support to the charity so that the Pre-school is there for the future generations of Ashton Vale!

Zoe Key
My daughter Olivia started at the pre-school (playgroup) in September 2017. I instantly felt at ease with all the staff and the setting and Olivia has absolutely loved her time so far, it’s been fascinating and a joy to watch her develop since starting. I work four days a week and am often away from home so am not always around to do pick up and meet parents.  As a resident of Ashton Vale the PMC felt like a great opportunity to get involved in the local community and support our fantastic pre-school.

Kat Sanders-Smith
My son Haydon started playgroup in January 2018 and we have had such a lovely warm welcome into the Pre-School – it is wonderful to be made to feel like part of the AVPS family! As well as being a mummy to Haydon I work freelance, affording me the flexibility to fit work around our busy home-life. I joined the PMC as I am really interested in education and also wanted to contribute to AVPS and get involved with wider community.

Sam Bird
I joined the committee in September 2011 when my eldest, Emily started at Nursery. I was the committee treasurer from Sept 2012 for a year which I really enjoyed and since Sept 2013 I have been employed at the pre-school as their part time Finance Administrator.  I have lived in Ashton Vale all my life, apart from a couple of years when I lived in Patchway, but missed this side of Bristol too much. I have really enjoyed being part of the committee and being involved in my children’s pre-school education.
